Although I’m a joint owner of a conveyancing law firm, I don’t have a legal background. My strengths are sales, marketing, and customer service, in other words, building, helping and supporting strong relationships.🤝
I wish I could say I start my day at 6 AM like many business owners, but I’m more of a night owl 🦉. The earliest I get going is 7 AM with 30 minutes on the Peloton 🚲, yoga, or strength training (I know I should strength train more than once a week because I’m at that age where I lose more muscle than I gain😊!). I finish with 10 minutes of meditation and I’m finished by 8 am.
Between 9 –11 AM, I protect my focus time using Teams to block out distractions.
I was inspired by The One Thing📘by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan—it helped me narrow in on what truly matters. Whether it's launching a marketing campaign, refining our sales process, or reviewing client experience in conveyancing or wills & probate, I ask: “What’s the one thing I can do right now to move this forward?”
From 11 AM –12 PM, I check and respond to emails.
The rest of my day centres on my top four priorities:
1: How is the RG Team - what do they need, and how can I help
2: Client and referrer issues
3: Promoting the RG Law brand, a daily highlight 😜
4: Sales team WhatsApp updates: Especially when we’re one instruction off target. I’ll think “It’s not happening” ... only to see a 💪 message at 8:15. The upside of working remotely you never really leave the office.
While watching my latest binge-worthy series 📺 (more on that next time), I review my plan and respond to important emails ✉️ for the next day.
I’m usually asleep 😴 by midnight, drifting off to a sleep meditation with ideas for blogs floating around like:
Ask the Client - Why are conveyancers accused of hidden charges, when mechanics aren’t for extra repairs? Isn’t the extra work we do valuable? After all a house is a bigger investment than a car. Why would you want us to cut corners?🤔
Food for thought... 💤💤💤
