To enable us to start work on your sale or purchase transaction we ask for an upfront payment. This payment is called a “file opening fee” and must be paid to enable work to commence on your transaction. If your sale or purchase falls through, through no fault of your own, your file opening fee is transferable to an identical transaction. This can only be done once, should your sale or purchase fall through a second time you will be required to pay a new file opening fee.
In the unlikely event that your sale or purchase does not complete, you will not be required to pay “our fee” set out in your personalised Terms and Conditions of Business. However, if you have incurred any disbursements/third party payments you will have to pay for these.
No completion no fee only applies to your first aborted sale or purchase. Should a second, third etc. sale or purchase fall through, you will be charged “our fee” for the work we have undertaken and if you have incurred any disbursements/third party payments you will have to pay for these.
